POLINEMA Signing MOU ILOCOS SUR POLYTECHNIC STATE COLLEGE Of The Philippines

State Polytechnic of Malang with a vision to be a leading vocational higher education institution in global competition is expanding its international cooperation network. Located in the Meeting Room of AA Building, the MoU of Polinema and the Philippines Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) was signed on Thursday (12/11/2020). The MoU signing ceremony was held online.

The MoU was signed by the Director of Polinema, Drs. Awan Setiawan, M.MT., MM and SUC President, Dr. Gilbert R. Arce.

The MoU signing was attended by Vice Director for Academic Affairs Supriatna Adhisuwignjo, ST., MT., Head of the Office for International Affairs (OIA) Hilda Cahyani, SS., M.Pd., PhD .; Head of Public Relations Unit Dr. Nur Salam, M.Pd., Expert Staff for Vice Director I Ardian Wahyu Setiawan, SS., Med., Ed.D ., Expert Staff of Vice Director IV Drs. Ir. Abdullah Helmy, M.Pd., Ph.D ., and Secretary of OIA Isnaini Nur Safitri, S.Pd., M.Pd., and from ISPSC Philippines: Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Apolo Francisco; Vice President for Information Research and Extension Dr. Gloria Tuzon; Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Corazon Quitevis; Internationalization Officer Dr. Annabelle Francisco.

ISPSC is a comprehensive six-campus higher education institution that provides professional and technical training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in economics, agriculture, fisheries, commerce, home industry, engineering, education, research and forest conservation, management, finance, accounting and business administration and public administration. The ISPSC main campus is in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur.

This MoU includes cooperation in the field of promotion and implementation of joint research and extension activities; undergraduate and postgraduate student exchange; exchange of faculty members and administrative staff; exchange of research results, academic publications, and academic information; and academic and educational exchange programs.

Head of OIA Polinema said that the signing of the MoU will be followed up with a zoom meeting to discuss activities or programs that could be collaborated with ISPSC.

“We have several study programs that match with ISPSC, namely IT and English Language Study Program related to hospitality and tourism. There will be student exchange collaborations for credit transfer programs and online public lectures for lecturers, “she said.

Hilda Cahyani, SS., M.Pd., PhD. added that this collaboration can be used by students because it supports the independent campus policy. Students get the opportunity to study on campus abroad for one semester. It is hoped that student exchange in the credit transfer program can be carried out smoothly because ISPSC is located on Asia continent which has the same characteristic and cultural backgrounds with Polinema.

“Polinema in the near future will also collaborate with the University College of Yayasan Pahang (UCYP) by sending international class students of Accounting Department and Business Administration Department for a credit transfer program. Unlike regular students, international class students get the opportunity to study abroad, “she concluded.
