Students of English Study Program collaborated with Office of International Affairs (OIA) of Polinema to organize an Independent Campus Webinar “Opportunities and Challenges for Students” through zoom meeting and live streaming on the OIA Polinema Youtube channel on Thursday (10/12/2020).
The webinar was officially opened by Vice Director III, Dr. Eng. Anggit Murdani, ST, M.Eng., and invited four speakers, namely Sub-Coordinator for Institutional Strengthening of Ministry of Education and Culture, Adhrial Reffadin, S.IP., MPP, Vice Director I of Polinema Supriatna Adhisuwignjo, ST, MT, Director of ITS Global Engagement Maria Anityasari, Ph .D and Expert Staff for Academic Affairs Ardian Wahyu Setiawan, SS, M.Ed., Ed.D. This webinar was participated by 410 participants, lecturers and students.
Vice Director III expressed his appreciation to students and OIA Polinema for holding Independent Campus Webinar and hoped the participants would get brief information of “Merdeka Beajar – Kampus Merdeka” from the speakers.
The Sub-Coordinator of Higher Education Institutional Strengthening of the Ministry of Education and Culture delivered a presentation “Embracing Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka Initiative”, one of the points of his presentation was off-campus learning activities that support Independent Campus Learning policy including student exchanges, internships, research, teaching assistance in educational units, entrepreneurship activities, humanitarian projects, independent projects and community service programs.
The second speaker, Vice Director I of Polinema, delivered a presentation entitled “Preparation for the Implementation of Independent Campus at State Polytechnic of Malang”.
“There are several challenges in Polinema, including Industrial Revolution 4.0, Millennial Era Learning, “Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka” (MBKM) and MBKM Curriculum Reconstruction”, Vice Director I said.
Director of Global Engagement ITS shared information related to Independent Learning through international programs ate Institute Technology of 10 November Surabaya.
“Independent Campus is a very good idea because it provides an opportunity for students to know other sides of various knowledge and bring knowledge to solve problems in society”, Maria Anityasari, Ph.D said.
The Expert Staff for Academic Affairs, Ardian Wahyu Setiawan, SS, M.Ed., Ed.D., presented “Opportunities Taken from Independent Campus Learning Policy” which explained about global exposure related to activities that support “Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka” Policy. Several implementations of “Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka” have been carried out at Polinema include Summer Camp/Course, Edutainment Program, Student Exchange, Double Degree program and Credit Transfer.
